Effective Project Management Tools for Manufacturers

This session will approach the topic of project management from the point of views of the manufacturer and supplier, covering the why and how to initiate/improve software implementation in order to improve performance of a business. Topics of discussion will include business leadership – to ensure all needs within the business (including stakeholders) are being addressed; “SCOPE CREEP” – getting it right the first time by correctly identifying the business needs; and “Human Resource Plan” – ensuring the right people with the right skill sets are working on the project at the right time. Case Studies will be shared discussing the challenges and pitfalls and how to overcome these challenges to ensure the project is completed as planned.

Ralph Futch is CEO of Core Insight Systems, Inc., a veteran owned and minority owned small business in Orange County. The company offers technologies to help manufacturers

achieve productivity, energy efficiency and sustainability goals. Ralph’s prior work experience, following his service in the US Navy submarine fleet, includes management and project management positions at Rockwell International, ARCO Corporate and Motorola. He was most recently CEO of Ecogate, Inc. prior to co-founding Core Insight Systems. Ralph obtained his B.S. in Management from Pepperdine University and an MBA in Entrepreneurship & Finance from the USC Marshall School of Business.

Joe Mignone, Managing Partner of The Global Institute of Business Acumen (GIBA), has more than thirty-five years of “hands-on” professional experience in areas of: Project Management, Accounting, Leadership, Change Management, Organizational Effectiveness, Quality Management Systems, Quality Auditing, Six Sigma, Performance Measurements, Lean Enterprise Methodology, ISO Standards, Business Management and other business related areas. He consults, conducts executive workshops and on-site training programs in various sizes and types of domestic and international organizations in Australia, Mexico, Asia, Europe, and the United States. In addition, to being a Certified Instructor of “Techniques for an Empowered Workforce” and a certified Facilitator for Lean and Six Sigma, he is a highly motivated presenter known for his methods of interactive training and facilitative style. Mignone possesses a B.S. degree from the City University of New York in Accounting, and has done Masters work at USIU, in the area of International Relations and Marketing. He also holds certifications in Purchasing and Management from UCSD and Total Quality Management from the University of Phoenix. Currently Mignone is an Adjunct Professor at the University of California in San Diego and Riverside, John Paul The Great Catholic University, as well as the University of Redlands.
