Learn about skills, training, and opportunities available in manufacturing for students. Student attendees will hear first-hand what employers seek in an ideal candidate, and how to successfully gain employment in the industry.

Pearl Virgen has been the Director of Human Resources, West Region for Cott Beverages for the last four years and has been at the Fontana, California Plant for the last 14 years. She is responsible for the recruiting, training, benefits, compensation, payroll and employee relations at the Fontana facility and oversees plants in Walla Walla, Washington, Springville, Utah, San Antonio, Texas, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas, and San Bernardino, California. She is also the Chairperson and serves on the Executive Committee of the Manufacturers’ Council of the Inland Empire. Virgen has a Bachelor of Science in Management & Human Resources from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. Prior to joining Cott Beverages she worked for Bentley Mills in City of Industry, California.

California Steel Industries, Inc. in Fontana for the last 15 years. He is responsible for the recruiting, training, benefits, compensation, payroll and employee relations for the corporate office and all operating units for the CSI’s 1,000 employee, non-union manufacturing facilities that generate $1.4 Billion in sales revenue. He also serves on the Executive Committee of the Manufacturers’ Council of the Inland Empire. Mr. Hoover has an Executive MBA from Claremont Graduate University, and a BA in Psychology from UC Riverside. He has worked for various manufacturers/distributors in California including Toyota Motor Sales, Weber Aircraft, Johns Manville and Transamerica Delaval.
