The Manufacturers’ Council of the Inland Empire (MCIE) is continuing to connect education with industry through hands-on manufacturing tours designed to inspire the next generation of skilled workers.
In April, the MCIE—alongside Norco College and Moreno Valley College—will host a student tour at Brenner-Fiedler’s Riverside facility, giving participants a rare behind-the-scenes look at modern automation and engineering in action.
Students will walk the production floor, observing system design, panel building, and assembly operations, as well as advanced technologies like robotics, motion control, and compressed air and vacuum systems. The tour also includes a visit to Brenner-Fiedler’s UL508A-certified panel shop, where electrical control systems are built to power automated manufacturing processes.
These experiences help students connect classroom learning with real-world applications—while introducing them to high-demand careers in automation, controls engineering, and advanced manufacturing.
The event will feature a welcome session, coffee and refreshments, a guided facility tour, and a live Q&A with industry professionals.
MCIE’s student outreach efforts are part of a broader strategy to address the region’s skilled labor gap by building clear pathways from local colleges into high-tech manufacturing careers.
Thank you to all MCIE members whose support makes this important outreach work possible. Together, we’re building a stronger, more innovative manufacturing community—one inspired student at a time.
