She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Science in Nursing from Franklin University as well as a Master’s in Science in Nursing specializing in Nursing Education, from Wright State University, both in Ohio. Deras attained the National League of Nursing Certification as a Certified Nurse Educator in 2009, the same year that Nursing determined that Education was an area of specialization. Deras has worked at local private and public institutions serving as faculty and administration including Chaffey College, Cal State San Bernardino, University of San Diego, American Career College and Cal Baptist University.  Having worked both in private and public educational institutions and with governmental funding sources such as WIA/WIOA, Department of Rehabilitation and ETP, Deras started her own private company, Envision Education, LLC, in order to provide local needs in the Inland Empire. Envision Education is the only stand-alone NNAAP CNA state testing venue in the Inland Empire and the only institution that provides private tutoring to all levels of healthcare students, continuing education, live scan fingerprinting, American Heart Association certifications as well as contracting with Community Colleges and government institutions to provide healthcare consulting, customized curriculum and training. She incorporated a non-profit public benefit corporation, Resources, Education and Careers in Healthcare (REACH Centers) to bridge the gap between those under/unemployed, funding sources, quality training and job placement in entry-level healthcare. She strives to bring together the resources of funding, trainers, educational institutions and employers to bring a more qualified workforce to Southern California and believes that the power of education can transform lives, business and the community.
