Tuesday, June 4, 2024 CMTC Cybersecurity Training Series: Incident Reporting & Incident Response Readiness 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. (Tuesday and Thursday Series) With support from the DoD, CMTC is offering a series of no-cost Cybersecurity Trainings for executives, operations, and IT. Starting May 21st and ending June 27th, the trainings will be delivered on Tuesdays and Thursdays @ 10:00 – 11:30 AM PT. Each of the 12 trainings will focus on a specific cybersecurity topic. Why a Golf Fundraiser? |
|
Did you know that there are over 730 local students in manufacturing-related high school training programs in the High Desert? The Manufacturer’s Council (MCIE) is connecting these talent pipelines to local manufacturers. Manufacturers and others who sponsor this golf fundraising event will allow us to offer scholarships to students enrolled in manufacturing pathways to help them achieve their educational goals, and to encourage on-going training that will lead to a manufacturing career. If you would like to contribute to the MCIE Student Scholarship Fund, you can do so at any time by contacting Molly at [email protected]. The Inland Empire region has more than 4,900 manufacturers in San Bernardino and Riverside Counties combined, and many of them have been seeking industrial technicians for years. In fact, this is the reason the Manufacturers’ Council began meeting more than 23 years ago. A group of manufacturers were trying to solve their workforce shortages and other issues, and sought solutions for hiring workers that would be needed to replace a ‘greying’ workforce. This work resulted in regional union-neutral apprenticeships that address retention and on-going training, supplemented with formal education to help ensure a highly-skilled workforce utilizing the latest industrial automation technologies. The Manufacturers’ Council strives to keep the manufacturing industry in the ‘limelight’ regionally, in both San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. It can be an overlooked industry as it competes for talent with multiple, better known, career options such as, construction, IT, healthcare, and logistics. MCIE Board Member Mike Gallo Passes |
|
We are sorry to announce that our board member and friend, Michael J. “Mike” Gallo, died April 3, 2024 after a brief illness, and was honored at a memorial on May 14, 2024. Mike was president and CEO of Kelly Space and Technology in San Bernardino, formed in 1993, as well as Fenix Space, formed in 2016. Prior to that, Mike had been an officer in the U.S. Air Force, and then was a rocket propulsion scientist, working for TRW during the days when the Norton Air Force Base was a huge part of the economy of San Bernardino city and county. Mike also served on the San Bernardino City Unified School District board from 2011 to 2020 and had a brief stint on the county Board of Education from 2021 to 2022. With a combination of love for science, industry, business success, and concern for students’ future careers, Mike embodied much of what the MCIE strives to promote. His broad interests helped to earn him a seat at the table of so many organizations. We will long remember our friend and supporter who was a real rocket scientist. |
