Murrieta, CA – October 18, 2024: The Manufacturers’ Council of the Inland Empire (MCIE) and the City of Murrieta cohosted a manufacturers-only breakfast and lecture at the Murrieta Innovation Center at the Murrieta/Wildomar Chamber of Commerce. Rick Egelin, CEO, and Tanner Egelin, Operations Manager, from Fireblast Global presented to over 30 attendees, including representatives from the City of Murrieta, County of Riverside, and County of San Bernardino, on the concepts and applications of Lean Manufacturing into their manufacturing processes. Founded in the 1990s with first responders and fire service personnel in mind, Fireblast Global is an industry leader in the design and production of fire training equipment. Located in Murrieta, Fireblast’s manufacturing is done according to Lean Manufacturing principles made famous by companies like Toyota Motor Corporation. Fireblast has been committed tenaciously to studying and applying Lean Manufacturing principles in their facility for years, with multiple members of the Fireblast Global team have received training on the topic in Japan.

Following the presentation, attendees were then invited to tour the Fireblast Global facility for a private tour guided by Rick Egelin and Tanner Egelin to observe the applications of lean manufacturing techniques in use on and off the assembly line.

The Manufacturers’ Council of the Inland Empire regularly hosts factory tours, networking sessions, industry panels and other events. Registration information for their October event will be made public soon.
The Manufacturers’ Council (MCIE) represents manufacturers in Riverside and San Bernardino counties. Their efforts include reaching out to students, their parents, and the public at large with the message that skilled trade opportunities are available that offer rewarding high-wage careers.
