Manufacturers’ Council Raises Over $40k to Help Fund Scholarships for Students in Manufacturing Skills Pathways

Manufacturers and suppliers to manufacturing turned out to support the 1st Annual Manufacturing Charity Golf Tournament, held June 3rd at the Bear Valley Country Club in Victorville. Teams, often mixed with suppliers, included Mitsubishi Cement, CEMEX, Rio Tinto, ICR Staffing, Recon, AVC Systems, Pro-Lift Rigging, Dyell Machine and National Gear Repair.

Award trophies, made of composite mining materials, were made by Cal Portland, and awarded to ICR Staffing (1st place) and Victor Valley Community College (Most Honest).

The Inland Empire region has more than 4,900 manufacturers in San Bernardino and Riverside Counties combined, and many of them have been seeking industrial technicians for years.

Manufacturers and others who sponsored this golf fundraising event are allowing the organization to offer scholarships to students enrolled in manufacturing pathways to help them achieve their educational goals and encourage on-going training that will lead to a manufacturing career.
